VHF

145.330 - Central Point, Oregon

Coverage - North Rogue Valley east to Lost Creek Lake, Shady Cove, Eagle Point, White City, north to Sams Valley, Gold Hill, west to portions of Rogue River and Grants Pass, Central Point and south along I-5 corridor to Siskiyou Summit, Medford and Jacksonville, Phoenix, Talent and Ashland.

The repeater is linked with UHF repeater 444.200.  This link is most always enabled which permits access from the UHF band.  IRLP is linked providing access to the world-wide computer network created by VE3LTD - Dave Cameron dedicated to amateur radio.  Find more information about IRLP at www.irlp.net, how to use this system and the recommended protocols.

When the repeater is connected to an IRLP node, there will be a "marker" tone transmitted periodically.  When you hear this tone, the repeater is "connected" to an IRLP node and you should listen to determine if anyone is using the link.  If you do not hear any communication, you may wish to ask if anyone is using IRLP and wait briefly for a response.  Hearing none, either disconnect and begin to use the repeater or announce your call, location and ask if anyone is listening.

To encourage use of the repeater, a computer will perform an "auto-connect" to a random IRLP node.  After some period of repeater silence, the computer will select a random 4 digit IRLP node number and if the selected node is not currently in use, an attempt to "connect" with the node selected will occur.  Sometimes nodes may be listed as available for a connection but may not connect successfully.  There are many reasons for this and the IRLP system will generally announce the problem with the node.

Links - Internet connected IRLP network with node 3383. 

This is currently a simplex radio with no courtesy tone.  It has a PL of 123 and "NO" offset, (i.e., 147.240 input and output).  This will later be changed to a full duplex repeater as time permits adding additional equipment.  Contact W9PCi for more information.
