The FT-50RD is a great dual-band radio.  Lots of battery life on this one vs the baby VX-5.  I have both radios and bought this one to have more "listening" and  "transmit" time.  It is a great handheld radio with similar features to the VX-5 and the older FT-51RD.

Battery is almost the size of the radio and is packed with plenty of reserve energy for the "bucket" mouth operator!

Enjoy a nice radio at a great price!
